Upland hunting focused dog training and breeding

Balanced Training

Balanced dog training is an approach that integrates positive reinforcement with appropriate correction techniques to guide a dog’s behavior. It emphasizes teaching desired behaviors through rewards while also addressing and redirecting unwanted behaviors in a humane and controlled manner.

Bird Exposure

Once proficient in the core obedience behaviors we begin our bird work. Bird work starts in our ” yard” and progresses those skills that then are transferred into the field. We use pigeons to develop our dogs and then progress to game birds in the field. Over the course of training it is expected your dog will have over 120 bird contacts.

Socialization

While in our care your dog will learn valuable social skills interacting with other dogs during potty time, free runs, and field work. Our goal is that dogs will be able to perform with partners in the field and learn appropriate play with other dogs.

Physical Exercise

While training is a physical activity, we also do endurance runs to build strength and stamina for the days afield. Your dog will go on progressing lengths of free runs while in our care to keep their cardiovascular system in top shape.
